Festa del Redentore 2025 / Feast of the Redeemer 2025
The highlight of this event is the fireworks that start around 11:30pm and lights up the San Marco Basin and surrounding area.
Before we go to the San Marco Basin we can do some exploring of the Lagoon and then around sunset join the hundreds of boats that will be at anchor waiting for the main event.
This Tour can also be customized for your interests and wishes. Contact us beforehand and we can cater to your wishes.
Experience this special evening just as the locals do.
Don't stand on shore in the crowds, but come on board a historical boat and relax with your group while having a snack or a cold drink.
The Feast of the Redeemer is one of the most cherished celebrations for Venetians, blending religious significance with a spectacular show. On Saturday night, fireworks attract thousands of visitors: light and reflections on the unique stage of the San Marco Basin create a kaleidoscope of colors against the backdrop of the city's spires, domes, and bell towers. This event commemorates the end of the terrible plague that struck Venice between 1575 and 1577. The Redeemer, or "notte famosissima" as Venetians colloquially call it, is an integral part of the culture of the lagoon city's residents. Even today, they continue to honor the gastronomic traditions, folklore, and celebrations passed down by their ancestors, which have made this deeply "Venetian" festival renowned internationally, as well as one of the city's largest tourist attractions.
You will have the boat, with captain, exclusively for your group and do not share it with others.
A max of 8 guests can be on board.
For this special event the itinerary will be discussed with the guests. You will have the boat from 5pm until after the fireworks (around 12:30am) for the price of 1500 euros.
The tour can start earlier if you would like to explore more of the lagoon or go swimming or to dinner somewhere. Additional hours are 100 euros each.
Contact us beforehand and we can cater to your wishes.
Pick-Up point will be agreed on with your group as well as the exact pick up time.
Drop-Off point will usually be the same as the Pick-Up spot.
Because of the popularity of this event and the many boats that will be out on the water, the group should be flexible with the drop-off point and time. Right after the Fireworks are over then hundreds of boats will start to make there way to their destinations and we basically can get traffic jams.
Depending on the time of the year wear appropriate clothing. The boat is an open vessel without a cabin so you are in the open.
During colder days we suggest a warm and windproof jacket, and during the hotter days a hat and sun screen lotion to protect from the hot sun.
While out on the water the temperature will normally feel a little cooler.
We do have a sun-shade during the summer months and blankets for the colder days on board.
We have a cooler on board with water, other beverages and also a selection of snacks.
Food, like lunch or dinner, is not included.
Any entry fees, gratuities and meals are not included.
Because of local regulations, we as a tour operator, are not allowed on the canals inside the the city of Venice. Stella, a traditional venice sailing vessel, wouldn't be able to fit inside the city canals because with the sailing masts we don't fit under the bridges.
Arrive 10 minutes before the departure time.
Please be aware that this is a traditional fishing boat and is not a modern vessel with all kinds of amenities.
This means that there are no bathroom facilities on board and getting on and off the boat might require the guests to make bigger steps up or down depending on the water levels at the time and also there might be a gap between the shore and boat to step over. We will always do our best to make it as easy as possible for everyone.
For this special event there is a no cancelation policy.
